Terms of Use

Chapter 1: General Provisions

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms and Conditions define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users regarding the services (hereinafter referred to as "Services") provided through the official online website (hereinafter referred to as "GCTS Busan Website") established and operated by the Secretariat of the Global City Tourism Summit (GCTS) 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the "Secretariat").

Article 2 (Definitions)

"GCTS Busan Website" refers to all Korean, English, and mobile versions of the official website operated by the Secretariat.
Website address: https://www.gctsbusan.org "Subscriber" refers to a person who has entered into a use agreement with the GCTS Busan Website and has been assigned a member ID.
Member: A subscriber who can use the services provided by the GCTS Busan Website.
"Member ID" refers to the email address selected by the subscriber for identification and use of the Services.
"Password" refers to a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters set by the member to protect their information and verify their identity.
Terms not defined in this Article shall follow the provisions of the Framework Act on Telecommunications, the Telecommunications Business Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and other applicable laws.

Article 3 (Display and Amendment of the Terms and Conditions)

The Secretariat shall post these Terms and Conditions, its name, contact information (email address, phone number), and business registration number on the initial screen of the website so that users can easily recognize them.
The Secretariat may establish additional terms (hereinafter referred to as "Individual Terms") applicable to specific services. If the user agrees to such Individual Terms, they shall take precedence over these general terms.
When amending the Terms and Conditions or Individual Terms, the Secretariat shall state the reason and effective date and notify users on the initial screen at least 7 days prior to the effective date.
In cases of amendments that may be unfavorable to users, notice will be provided at least 30 days in advance, and users will be notified by email or other means. If individual notice is difficult due to lack of or incorrect contact information, posting on the website shall be deemed sufficient.
Revised Terms and Conditions shall apply equally to users who have entered into an agreement before the amendment.
Users who disagree with the revised Terms may terminate their agreement and request deletion of their registration information.
Continued use of the Services after the effective date of the revised Terms will be deemed as agreement to the changes.
Revised Terms shall take precedence over previous versions.

Article 4 (Applicable Law and Relation to Other Laws)

Matters not specified in these Terms shall be governed by applicable laws.
The Secretariat may amend these Terms within the scope permitted by relevant laws.

Chapter 2: Conclusion of Use Agreement

Article 5 (Establishment of Use Agreement)

The use agreement is established when a person who wishes to use the GCTS Busan Website submits an application, and the Secretariat approves it.
The Secretariat generally approves applications if the applicant accurately provides the required information and agrees to the Terms.
The Secretariat may reject applications for the following reasons:
Submission of false information
Use of another person’s name or business registration number
History of causing harm to other users
Failure to meet application requirements

Article 6 (Management of Member ID and Password)

Each member may use only one ID, and corporate members may use one ID per company.
Members are responsible for managing their ID and password, and the Secretariat shall not be liable for any issues arising from leakage or poor management.
Members must notify the Secretariat immediately in case of ID/password leakage and may not share or transfer their ID without legitimate reason.

Article 7 (Termination of Use Agreement)

Members may terminate the agreement at any time. The Secretariat may terminate the agreement for the following reasons:
Lack or loss of required qualifications
Registration of false information or illegal activities
Violation of the obligations under these Terms
The Secretariat shall notify the member of the reason for termination in advance and may
provide an opportunity to explain.

Chapter 3: Use of Services
Article 8 (Types of Services)

The Secretariat provides the following services:
Information on exhibitions, forums, and programs related to the Global City Tourism Summit, and business meetup services between participants Notices, inquiries, events, and other ancillary services

Article 9 (Service Hours)

The Services are generally available 24/7 throughout the year.
In case of system maintenance or other necessary reasons, prior notice will be given.

Article 10 (Changes to Service Policy)

The Secretariat will notify changes to the service policy at least 7 days in advance on the GCTSBusan Website.

Article 11 (Service Suspension)

Services may be suspended due to unavoidable reasons such as system maintenance, failure, or force majeure, and the Secretariat shall not be held liable.

Article 12 (Personal Information Protection)

The Secretariat protects members’ personal information in accordance with applicable laws.
Details are specified in the separate Privacy Policy.

Article 13 (User Obligations)

Members must accurately input and maintain their registration information and comply with
these Terms and applicable laws.
Members must not:
Illegally copy or leak service information
Send spam or overload the system
Infringe on others’ rights or interfere with the operation of the Services

Article 14 (Management of Posts)

If a member's post falls under any of the following, the Secretariat may delete or restrict access:
Defamation, copyright infringement, illegal content, duplicate posts, etc.
Copyright of posts belongs to the poster. The Secretariat has the right to use posts for service operation.
If infringing content is reported, the Secretariat will take temporary or deletion measures, andthe content may be restored upon valid objection.

Article 15 (Advertisements and Transactions)

The Secretariat may display advertisements on the site and is not responsible for any lossesresulting from related transactions.

Article 16 (Disclaimer of Agency and Warranty)

The Secretariat does not act as an agent or guarantee transactions between participants.
Responsibility lies with the parties involved.

Chapter 4: Miscellaneous

Article 17 (Disclaimer)

The Secretariat is not responsible for service interruption due to force majeure such as natural disasters or system failures.
The Secretariat is not responsible for disputes or damages arising from transactions between members.

Article 18 (Others)

Attachments or appendices to these Terms shall be considered part of the Terms.
Matters not specified shall be governed by relevant laws or by agreement between the parties.

Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy of GCTS 2025 Global City Tourism Summit
The GCTS 2025 Global City Tourism Summit Secretariat (hereinafter referred to as the “Secretariat”) values your personal information and is committed to protecting it with the utmost care and efficiency. This privacy policy may be updated in accordance with changes in applicable laws, regulations, or internal policies. We encourage you to check this policy regularly when visiting the official website.

1. Purpose of Personal Information Collection and Use

The Secretariat collects and uses personal information for the following purposes:
To fulfill contractual obligations related to services: Providing event-related content, participant registration, etc. Member management: Identity verification, confirmation of registration, handling complaints, and prevention of unauthorized use Marketing and advertising: Providing event information, analyzing user access frequency, and service usage statistics

2. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information

Personal information will be destroyed without delay once the purpose of its collection and use has been fulfilled.
The maximum retention period is 5 years. Upon request from the data subject, all personal information will be immediately deleted without exception and will only be used for the purposes specified above.

3. Provision and Delegation of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Secretariat processes personal information only within the scope specified in “Purpose of Personal Information Collection and Use” and provides it to third parties only with the consent of the data subject or in accordance with Article 17 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
The Secretariat may provide and delegate the processing of personal information to third parties as follows:
Recipient: Leeconvention Inc.
Purpose: Business meetings, Travel Mart, international tourism exhibition, schedule announcements, convenience information, badge issuance, etc.
Provided Information: Name, organization, position, phone number, email, etc.
Retention Period: 1 year

4. Rights of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them

Data subjects may request to view, correct, delete, or suspend the processing of their personal information at any time.
Requests can be made in writing, by email, or fax, and the Secretariat will take action without delay.
If a request is made by an agent, a power of attorney must be submitted.
Rights may be limited under relevant laws in certain circumstances.

5. Items of Personal Information Collected

Required items: Name, organization, position, contact information, email, IP address, cookie data, etc.
Collection method: Through the website’s membership registration and event application pages

6. Destruction of Personal Information

Personal information will be destroyed immediately when the retention period expires or the processing purpose is fulfilled.
If continued retention is required by law, the data will be stored separately.
Destruction method: Electronic files will be permanently deleted, and paper documents will be shredded or incinerated.

7. Personal Information Manager

8. Changes to the Privacy Policy

This policy is effective as of January 1, 2025.

9. Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

10. Use of Cookies and How to Reject Them

The Secretariat uses cookies to provide customized services.
You may reject the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings.
Note that rejecting cookies may limit the availability of certain services.

11. Copyright Policy

All content provided by GCTS Busan (including articles, photos, graphics, videos, audio files, attachments, database information, etc.) is protected under copyright law and is owned by the Secretariat or the respective creator.
Any duplication, distribution, publication, exhibition, sale, or modification of content without prior authorization is strictly prohibited.
Even for non-commercial purposes, the use of content—especially by organizations or companies building their own databases—requires prior approval and proper attribution.
